Local Area

The traditional village of  Horto, where  Leda Resort  is found, is located in the southwest side of Pelion Mountain and faces the Pagassetic Gulf . It is 47 km from Volos  and  77 km from Volos airport

Horto is built amongst olive trees and lush vegetation that reach the beach and it is traversed by a picturesque rivulet. In the area around there are quite a few beautiful beaches which are some of the best in  Pelion  and are ideal for swimming, sunbathing or even just relaxing while watching the magnificent view.

Despite the fact that Horto is small, you can find bars, restaurants and two mini markets on the promenade. Moreover, another sight of Horto is the open theatre, where, during the summer season, musical and dancing festivals take place and notable artists take part.

At a  3 km distance there is Milina, a quite bigger village than Horto. Its promenade is fabulous for a stroll; along it there are a lot of tourist shops and supermarkets that catch your eye with their attractive goods. Also, there are restaurants by the sea, bars and night clubs for a more vivid night-life.

It looks as if the Leda complex is the starting point for its visitors, as there is an easy access to Pelion villages renowned for their history, their friendly people and their unique beaches. From Leda you can easily reach  Skiathos Island Trikeri Island  with its historical Monastery at the edge of the Pagassetic Gulf . You also have the opportunity to swim in the famous Pelion beaches on the Aegean side like MylopotamosDamouhariMelani and  Potistika or the tranquil crystal clear beaches on the side of the Pagassetic Gulf; moreover, to entertain yourself at the local feasts, to travel around Pelion, to visit the well-known villages of PortariaMakrinitsaMiliesVisitsa, TsagaradaAi-Ghiannis AfissosKala Nera  and so on. You can even go on a daily excursion to  Meteora Monasteries  or  Delphi archaeological site .

An unforgettable experience would be for you to go for a ride on the Pelion old-fashioned train, which was designed by Ernesto de Chirico  (who was the father of the famous painter  Giorgio de Chirico). You can also visit Paou Byzantine Monastery  (it is 9 km from Horto by car and only 5 km on foot), or walk through green, picturesque paths; rent a boat and visit Alatas Island  (opposite to Milina) where another Byzantine Monastery of great historical importance (Aghii Saranta Monastery) is found or visit  Prasouda Island. What is more, you can try horse riding at Argalasti or you can do nothing at all but relax by the pool or on the beach of the complex.

Whichever of all the above you choose to do, you will certainly be the lucky one!
